Mu-lan, Woody orchid.
This is a deciduous bushy shrub, it will reach about 3m tall. The leaves are dark green and downy on the undersides. The flowers are fragrant narrow and purplish-pink. They are borne among the leaves from mid-spring until mid-summer. They will require deep, fertile, well-drained mildly acidic soil. They thrive in sun or partial-shade but need protection from strong or salty winds.
