Green leylandii  is a fast-growing evergreen tree (up to a meter per year) much used in horticulture, primarily for hedges and screens. Leyland Cypresses are commonly planted in gardens to provide a quick boundary or shelter hedge. If the conifer produces more than one leader, to maintain the general conical habit remove all but one leader. To restrict the height of the plant, the leader can be cut back.
