This is a bushy dense evergreen shrub with large glossy dark green leaves that will produce attractive purple flowers. After the flowers bright red oval berries are produced. To ensure good fruit production grow both male and female plants. This shrub will tolerate a wide range of conditions including full sun to deep shade and dry to moist soils. To restrict growth, cut old shoots back hard in spring.
