This is a clump-forming plant, with bold dark green leaves arranged in pairs. There are star-shaped, yellow- white, pink or red flowers which are borne in panicles on reddish green stems in mid to late summer.Partial sun. They prefer moist soil at the edge of a pond or in a bog garden with sun or partial-shade. They grow well in a site sheltered from strong winds.
