The leaves on this species are small,dull green turning yellow in the autumn. It is very useful as a pest-free hedge or a small, street tree. It will tolerate dry, poor sandy soils. They are fully to frost hardy and will require sun or semi-shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Growth habit: broad upright rounded. Height 6 to 12m, spread 3 to 4m.
